Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop full brand identities for new development projects, including naming support, logo systems, typography, color, and brand guidelines that maintain the identity across a multi-year sell-out.
  • Translate a developer’s vision, the architecture, and the neighborhood into a story for buyers, carrying it consistently from pitch deck to brochure to construction barricade to sales gallery to website.
  • Present concepts directly to developers, sponsors, and internal stakeholders, explain and defend the creative rationale, absorb feedback, and quickly deliver the next round.
  • Design the full new development collateral suite, including pitch and request-for-proposal materials, brochures, floor plan books, e-blasts, social graphics, signage and construction barricades, print advertising, and presentation decks.
  • Design floor plan presentations for print and web; floor plan production is handled by a dedicated contractor.
  • Design new development websites in Figma, hand off developer-ready files to internal and external web partners, and review builds for brand and design fidelity.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate concepting, iteration, and production.
  • Work within and improve ID Lab’s templates, brand kits, and asset libraries so each project starts further along than the previous one.
  • Maintain brand consistency across concurrent projects while ensuring each building has a distinct identity.
  • Coordinate with the New Development project management team, agents, and third-party vendors, including printers, fabricators, photographers, and web developers.
  • Contribute to team efforts by completing tasks as needed and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Keep up to date with luxury, hospitality, fashion, and architectural design as references for the work.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in graphic design, communication design, or a related field.
  • Four to six years of experience as a designer in brand identity and marketing, including substantive work in a luxury category such as real estate, hospitality, fashion, spirits, automotive, or a comparable category.
  • Real estate marketing experience in new development, luxury residential, or a comparable area, demonstrated in the portfolio.
  • A portfolio link in the resume showing complete identity systems rather than individual assets, with editorial-quality print work.
  • Direct client-facing experience presenting one's own work to clients.
  • Print production fluency, including prepress, stock, finishes, binding, and large-format and environmental specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools in the creative process.
  • Availability for occasional travel to new development sites within New York City.
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
  • Proficiency with Figma, including website design and developer-ready handoff.
  • Experience with website builders such as Squarespace, Webflow, or similar tools.
  • Experience with project management software such as ClickUp or similar tools.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or similar tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the composure to present work to clients.
  • A keen eye for design, visual composition, and luxury detail.
  • Ability to explain design choices, including marks, typefaces, and paper stocks, in a persuasive way.
  • Effective time management and ability to work quickly across concurrent projects without sacrificing craft.
  • Meticulous attention to detail on items that are printed, fabricated, or installed.
  • Discipline in process, file management, and handoff.
  • Comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Candidates must live within the United States and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Skills

Ground-up new development or sales gallery experience. Experience with Canva brand kits and templated design systems operating at scale. Working knowledge of construction and development timelines and how creative deliverables sequence against them.
